CIS Ledger privacy policy

About. CIS Ledger is made by TurboKast Ltd and is available for Android on Google Play. It is an independent record-keeping app for subcontractors in the Construction Industry Scheme. It is not made by, or connected to, HMRC. TurboKast Ltd, company number SC881077, 29 Commercial Street, Dundee, DD1 3DG.

We collect no data. CIS Ledger stores your contractors, payments, statement details, photos and PDFs of statements, expenses and mileage only on your phone, in the app's own storage. We cannot see it. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it does not contact any server of ours.

Statement photos and PDFs. When you add a photo or PDF of a statement or receipt, CIS Ledger copies it into its private storage on your phone using the system file picker, so it only receives the files you choose. It does not ask for access to your photo library, camera, location, contacts or microphone.

Notifications. If you turn on reminders, CIS Ledger schedules notifications on your phone. On Android 13 and later it asks your permission first. It also asks Android to re-create them after a restart. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Purchases. The optional CIS Ledger Pro purchase is handled entirely by Google Play. We receive no payment or personal details. Google's privacy policy applies to the purchase. CIS Ledger asks Google Play only whether your Google account owns CIS Ledger Pro, so that it can unlock the app and let you restore the purchase on a new phone.

Backups and exports. Your records may be included in your phone's backup to your own Google Account (Android Auto Backup) under your own settings. We cannot access those backups. When you export a CSV or PDF, or save a backup file, you choose where it goes. Those files are not encrypted, so keep them somewhere private.

Deleting your data. Delete a payment, contractor, expense or journey inside CIS Ledger to remove it, or uninstall the app to remove everything it stores on your phone. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing to request from us. Backups and exported files you made are yours to delete, and backups held in your own Google Account are managed in your account settings.

Children. CIS Ledger is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.

Changes. If this changes (for example if a future version adds optional sync), we will update this page and the Google Play data safety details before releasing it.

This website. The cookie banner on turbokast.com belongs to this website and is separate from the CIS Ledger app, which has no cookies, analytics or tracking.
